OPEN SHOW 2008 REPORT
Open Show 2008

This years open show received 702 entries which was our best for over 20 years and we also staged over 300 budgerigars which means we have secured silver championship status for next year.   What started as a bad year when our staging was stolen became one of the best shows the society has held in recent years.   Another pleasing aspect was the large amount of visitors to the show, it is a long time since queues were waiting for the doors to open.

Some of our younger members were allowed to put their ideas into operation and this lies well for the future.   The "old hands" also played their part and good teamwork made the show run smoothly.

Having aquired silver championship status for next year, serious thought will have to be given to larger premises.

The new single sided staging was a God send and without it we would not have staged all the entries.
